Questions about certification
Does the certification process comply with official ISO standards?
Yes. The certification is carried out fully in accordance with ISO standards.
ISO requires certification bodies to operate in line with the relevant CASCO standards. We ensure this through a transparent and traceable qualification process for our auditors, based on the standards of the International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA), as well as through our membership in the German Association of Independent Certification Bodies (BVUZ) in our home market, Germany.
The certification is conducted independently. Independent certification is recognized in approximately 95% of all cases. ISO itself, as the originator of the standards, states on its website:
“Accreditation is not compulsory, and non-accreditation does not necessarily mean the certification body is not reputable.”
This underlines that a certification issued by DICIS AG has the same practical value as other ISO certifications, as compliance with the respective standard is thoroughly and properly assessed.
Here you will find the explanations for the certification of ISO.
How long does certification take?
Until now, preparing all required ISO documentation typically took five to seven months. With our AI-supported ISO certification platform, this effort is reduced to five to seven hours.
Depending on how intensively customers work on their documentation, certification can be achieved within as little as 24 hours. In practice, however, many customers deliberately take a bit more time to fully benefit from ISO 9001 certification — such as establishing standardized processes, improving efficiency, and strengthening information security.
When customers invest around one hour per day, certification is usually completed within one week, while still realizing the full operational value of the standard.
What can I expect after becoming a customer?
After you become a customer, our certification team will contact you as a first step to clarify any open questions regarding the certification process. You will also receive a concise introduction to our certification platform, enabling you to get started immediately.
Once you have completed your documentation, you register for a trial audit. During this session, you review your documentation together with a lead auditor, giving you the opportunity to identify gaps, finalize missing elements, and ensure practical implementation.
After the trial audit, you schedule your official certification audit. Upon successful completion, you receive your certification report and ISO 9001 certificate and are formally certified.
How can I show my certification to customers?
As a customer, you receive far more than just a certificate.
You receive an official ISO 9001 certificate containing all information required by the standard, including your company details, scope of certification, and an individual certificate number. In addition, you receive a digital certification profilethat can be integrated directly into your website, allowing customers to see transparently which ISO 9001 requirements your organization fulfills.
You are also listed in the DICIS certificate database, enabling customers and business partners to verify your certification at any time.
Furthermore, you receive a detailed certification report that clearly documents the ISO 9001 requirements you meet. This report can be shared with interested parties on the customer side — such as quality managers, procurement teams, or compliance departments — and serves as a reliable proof of your structured processes and quality standards.
Does the price include the ISO 9001 certification?
Yes. The DICIS price includes the full ISO 9001 certification audit, conducted entirely online, as well as the annual surveillance audit.
Our certification process has been specifically designed for small, service-oriented companies. Traditional certification approaches and pricing models often create unnecessary administrative effort and disproportionate costs for these businesses. DICIS therefore offers a transparent all-inclusive model that covers all certification services and is intentionally structured to be simple, efficient, and business-friendly.
Questions about DICIS
Why choose DICIS?
We specialize in enabling small service-oriented companies to achieve certification quickly and with minimal administrative effort. Many of our customers are in the early stages of their certification process and face significant bureaucratic challenges, often spending valuable time on documentation instead of serving clients and growing their business.
Our mission is to make even highly complex ISO standards accessible, practical, and efficient to implement. While traditional certification bodies offer excellent solutions for medium-sized and large enterprises, DICIS is fully focused on the needs of small service companies — delivering a fast, pragmatic, and business-friendly certification approach.
What makes our certification approach practice-oriented?
ISO management systems were originally created to improve how companies operate. The standards are intended to support organizations — not to burden them. In practice, however, high bureaucratic requirements often have the opposite effect, particularly for small companies. Instead of implementing a practical management system that delivers real value, they can become overwhelmed by documentation and formalities.
For this reason, we have designed both our certification platform and the entire certification process to maximize practical benefits for our customers. During the audit, we not only ensure full compliance with the standard, but also focus on how ISO standards can be used effectively to strengthen processes, efficiency, and performance. This approach ensures that certification becomes a driver of improvement — not an administrative burden.
On what basis is DICIS authorized to perform certifications?
The DICIS certification body is managed by Dr. Jens-Uwe Meyer, an experienced Lead Auditor for ISO management systems. He holds a doctorate in economics and an MBA degree, combining strong academic credentials with extensive practical experience in certification and management systems.
The management of the certification body is supported by a qualified team of auditors covering various specialist areas. All members of the certification team are formally trained Lead Auditors and bring many years of hands-on audit experience. When selecting our auditors, we place particular emphasis on a practical, business-oriented audit approach and a deep understanding of the specific requirements of small and service-oriented companies.
Does DICIS provide consulting services?
The ISO standards require a clear and strict separation between consulting and auditing (certification). In particular, the same individual who advises a customer on the development of a management system is not permitted to conduct the certification audit. In line with these requirements, DICIS has implemented a clear organizational separation between support in setting up the management system and the independent certification process.
At the same time, the standards explicitly expect certification bodies to explain and communicate the requirements of the standards to their customers. This is exactly what we do. A certification audit is therefore more than a purely formal assessment. While it is not consulting in the classical sense, it is a structured and professional review in which our customers not only gain confirmation of compliance, but also receive practical, standard-compliant feedback and improvement suggestions. These insights enable companies to use ISO 9001 as a concrete tool for further developing their processes and strengthening their organization.
Who is the organization behind DICIS?
DICIS AG is a German stock corporation whose articles of association explicitly define its purpose as the digitalization and certification of management systems. The articles of association also commit the company to the highest professional, ethical, and quality standards. DICIS AG is supported by more than 100 shareholders, many of whom have direct experience as entrepreneurs or self-employed professionals.
As a German stock corporation, DICIS AG is subject to stringent regulatory, legal, and governance requirements. Germany is the third-largest economy in the world and the largest in Europe, and is internationally recognized for its strong regulatory framework, legal certainty, and high quality standards. Being certified by a German certification institute therefore provides companies with a particularly strong signal of credibility, reliability, and compliance — both nationally and internationally.
Questions about the certification tool
How does artificial intelligence support the certification process?
To get started, customers complete a guided questionnaire. Within approximately 20 minutes, the basic structure of the quality, environmental, or information security management system is established.
Once the company description is provided, the AI assistant generates targeted, standard-compliant content — such as work instructions, process descriptions, or information security policies. This is powered by a structured prompt management system that precisely controls the interaction with the AI service from OpenAI.
The generated results are integrated directly into the certification platform, enabling customers to address standard requirements quickly, efficiently, and with a high level of consistency.
What are the seven steps in the certification tool?
The ISO standards comprise more than 300 individual requirements. Over a period of three years, our expert team systematically structured these requirements so they can be implemented quickly and effectively in real-world business environments.
The result is a clear seven-step process that guides companies through implementation. These steps cover the entry of core company information, objectives, processes and documentation, risk management, and evaluations such as internal audits and management reviews. In the seventh and final step, the completed management system is made available to employees in line with the standard’s requirements.
This structured seven-step approach ensures that customers can implement ISO requirements in a clear, efficient, and practical way.
Can I download my documentation as a PDF?
Yes. As a paying customer, you can download your complete documentation in PDF format. This functionality is not available in the free trial version.
Paid customers can export a wide range of documents, including action plans, policies, audit reports, and management review reports, for internal use or external communication.
What happens after the 30-day trial?
If you decide not to continue after the 30-day trial, your platform will be automatically deleted. This ensures that no company or personal data remains in our systems.
Should you choose to use our tool at a later date, you would simply start again with a new questionnaire. While this means setting up a new platform, it guarantees full compliance with data protection requirements — ensuring maximum security and transparency for your benefit.
If I have technical questions, who will help me?
Our support team is available at all times to assist with technical questions and issues. This ensures that you can use the platform smoothly and without disruption.
We support you with both the certification platform and general technical matters. If an issue cannot be resolved immediately, we work quickly to find an efficient solution. Our goal is to ensure that you can fully focus on implementing your certification without technical distractions.
Further questions
Do I need to cancel the 30-day trial period?
No, you don’t have to cancel. You also don’t automatically subscribe. After 30 days, your trial period ends automatically, and no special cancellation is required. We do this because we categorically oppose automatic “subscription traps” and want to provide our customers with a transparent and fair experience.
Why am I receiving the invoices from the provider Digistore24?
We want to focus all of our energy on our customers and providing high-quality certification. That’s why we have chosen Digistore24 as our payment service provider. They ensure that billing is handled fairly and transparently and that no problems arise. This allows us to focus on your certification while all payment processes are handled professionally and reliably.
Is the DICIS certificate recognized internationally?
Yes. ISO 9001 is a globally established standard that is recognized in nearly all countries. Millions of organizations worldwide are certified in accordance with ISO standards, which were originally developed to ensure consistent quality requirements in international trade.
As a result, a certification issued by DICIS AG is internationally recognized and accepted across markets and industries.
How can I ensure that my certification remains valid?
DICIS issues the certificate for the full contractual term (e.g. 24 months). During this period, an annual surveillance audit is conducted to verify that the ISO 9001 requirements continue to be met and that the management system is being applied effectively.
If you choose to renew the contract at the end of the term, the validity of your certificate is automatically extended, ensuring uninterrupted certification.
